House of the Arts was certainly pleased to have a One-on-One rap session with Di Bluprint Band after the release of their newest single. Amazingly talented with a bright future ahead, these highly motivated young men are "no nonsense team players" who are highly inclined to embrace success as it comes along.

HOA: On what terms did you guys decide to form a band and how long has Di BluPrint Band been together?

BP: We were formed in 2009 at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts School of Music. I would say it’s the music that brought us together followed by our personalities. We decided to form the group because of our passion for band music and the influence of other bands.

HOA: What is the origin of the name Di Blueprint?

BP: We were originally "Blueprint Band" but decided to make a subtle change by adding "Di" instead of “the” as a way of keeping our roots and embracing our culture, hence us being "Di Blueprint". The origin of the name was inspired through wanting a name that would stand out and has a valuable meaning that could be related to music.

HOA: The Global Battle of the Bands win was a huge success, how are you guys coping with that drastic change having still being in school?

BP: At present, it is extremely hard trying to cope with school and our career, especially because we are in our Final Year (Diploma/Degree) the workload has multiplied significantly, but what makes it bearable is because we enjoy what we are doing. The transition from school to professional career is one that is being made gradually.

HOA: Who writes music for Di Blueprint?

BP: Over the years we have been writing our own music but recently we have decided to start working with talented writers.

HOA: What was the process for writing the single and what does the release mean for you guys?

BP: The process for writing our new single "Your Love" was basically straightforward, it was somewhat written from personal experience so the words were on our lips. This release really means a lot to us because it’s our second single to be released and it marks the one-year release of “Baby Boo” which was released the same time last year.

HOA: Who would you say are the "lovers" in the band?

BP: The lovers in the band would definitely have to be…all of us, lol...especially all of us, lol...we are all lovers in our own significant way.

HOA: What can the public expect from Di Blueprint for 2012?

BP: Not to sound Cliché, but we have a lot in store for 2012, we have few more singles to release for the year, pretty soon we will be releasing another, we wont keep our friends waiting long this time for another release. In the last quarter of this year we have a HUGE surprise for everyone.

HOA: Any last words?

BP: We would really want to thank all our loyal friends, family and fans for supporting our career thus far. Big up to those who will continue to support us through the hard times as well as the good ones.
